Raising Money to Support the mission of Above + Beyond Cancer

Author: I have been trying to find new ways to help out with the efforts of Above + Beyond Cancer. This is something that is important to me and I would love some new ideas on how to raise money for their mission. I am finding that I am not very good about asking people to give money but I need to work on this.

A friend of mine needed to raise money for Susan G. Komen 3-day event. Where people walk 60 miles in 3 days and raises money for breast cancer. Anyway, she had a garage sale and asked family, friends and facebook friends to donate any items they no longer want or need for her garage sale. All the money she made during garage sale she put towards her pledge for the fundraising event. Anything that didn’t sell she donated to Good Will and local thrift stores. Anyone, who wanted to participate in the 3-day walk needed to raise at least $2300. Maybe you could have a garage sale? Or ask a friend to have a garage sale with donated items.
